Tracheotomy or tracheostomy, is a surgical procedure which consists of making an incision on the anterior aspect of the neck and opening a direct airway through an incision in the trachea.

AMICUS Trousseau Tracheal Dilators are used to widen the opening during Cricothyrotomy. During endotracheal (ET) tube passage, the Trousseau dilator may be left in place for tracheal stabilization. Use of Trousseau Tracheal Dilators reduce chances of damage to local tissue and there is no cuff ruptures.
